EcoPhones
Hanes Elementary is conducting a recycling fundraiser.  There's nothing to buy.  We're just simply asking you to protect the environment by donating your used electronic devices (see website for a list of accepted items).  Your used items may be tax deductible and will be recycled in accordance with EPA regulations or refurbished & sold.  100% of the proceeds will go to Hanes. www.EcoPhones.com                                                                 
   

Universal Breakfast Program
On January 7, 2008, Hanes Elementary School began the Universal Breakfast program, under which all students eat breakfast for FREE! To accommodate this program, our morning arrival procedures are different beginning Monday, January 7th.  Please  click on the apple to read more about the new arrival procedures.

Counselor's Corner
Welcome Back! We look forward to working with your children this school year. We will provide guidance and counseling services with an individual approach. Each student will participate in guidance lessons with the counselor for their grade level. We will also provide small group guidance for students. Mrs. Otero will work with students in grades K-2. Mrs. Bernard will work with bilingual, and students in grades 3-5. Topics will include Character Education, Bullying Prevention, Conflict Resolution, Stress Management, and Personal Safety Skills. Silver School Award
Our school has been awarded the USDA's Healthier School Challenge Silver School Award. We are among the first dozen schools in the entire state to earn this prestigious award.
   
3rd Grade Program
On December 20th the 3rd grade students at Hanes performed their holiday program. They're costumes and singing were amazing! Way to go 3rd grade!CLICK HERE to see a video slide show of their program.

IISD Media Deadline will be in December
Last year we had over 100 campus entries and SIX district winners. We are looking forward to winning even more awards this year!

Fourth Grade Writers

5th Grade Science Fair
The 5th grade students worked very hard on their science fair projects. There were over 80 entries and everyone did a great job showing the scientific process. Way to go 5th Grade! CLICK HEREto see the video slide show
   
Hanes Won the Recycling Contest!!
Thank you parents and students for using the green and blue recycling bins outside the school (Pocatello Dr) and for bringing cans to school! Our dedication to recycling paid off! We won the district recycling contest.CLICK HERE to watch a recycling video.
   
Pastries for Parents
Students and parents came down to the library to enjoy pastries and did a little browsing and a lot of shopping at the Scholastic Book Fair. CLICK HERE to see a video.
   
Internet Safety for Parents
